Our Mission:
• To provide social services and financial assistance to the LGBT community, our families, and friends

Unlike most other communities, there is often not a “built-in” support system of family and friends that one can depend on during times of need. If someone is alone facing a terminal illness or financial crisis there is often no one for them to turn to for help. They are left on their own to navigate the system of services to find assistance. Cornerstone Outreach was formed in order to serve the LGBT community in Orange County with a safety net of services to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. In other words, we will stand in the gap to provide services that our community, individuals, and families need.

Due to societal pressures and cultural differences, individuals within the LGBT community often fail to receive positive reinforcement and affirmation. This lack can lead to self-destructive behavior, insecurity, self loathing, and a lack of self confidence.

We at Cornerstone Outreach believe that providing positive role models for the LGBT community is crucial for helping individuals develop self confidence and a future filled with hope. By providing programs that help overcome some of the challenges individuals face, we can help pave the way for a healthy productive life.

What Makes Us Unique?
We are committed to finding ways to help individuals and families on an individual basis and to custom design a plan of action to meet a variety of needs. This may be through a collaborative effort with other agencies, specific grants, and/or emergency assistance.

We want to help as many people as we can in ways that are productive and uplifting. Ultimately, we hope that individuals will become self sufficient and self reliant. We strive to help individuals/families who are in need develop a plan of action to prevent them from falling through the gaps that exist in care and provision. We help with the immediate need as well as structure a plan of care that provides a long-term solution.

We are the “can-do-agency.” We are committed to finding solutions for the needs of the LGBT community. Some agencies and organizations are limited in the type of services and whom they can serve. We are not bound by those limitations. Bring us the need and let us help figure out the solution!

Ensuring The Future
When we give back to our community we are investing in our own future. The demographics of the LGBT community are changing in Orange County. It is crucial that we not lose the expertise and lessons learned from the past by those who have struggled and labored for many years for various rights. We need to work together to ensure for future generations that until we have equal rights, equal access, equal benefits under California law as well as Federal law, that we have in place a safety net of services for those in need.

It is important also to raise up the next generation of LGBT youth with the self confidence and courage to overcome whatever challenges and obstacles they may face. By creating a future that is hopeful and not wrought with self-doubt and/or self-destructive behavior we can influence the course of the LGBT community for years to come.
